“Ask in Faith” – Day 4: Having the faith to act

Remember to consider your question for God as you go through Day 4’s exercises.

It took faith to open your computer or mobile device today and start todays activity here online. You showed faith by doing something that you believe will help you, but you can’t know for sure until you try. Faith in God is trust that He will deliver on His promises. Like… when He tells us He will answer our prayers by the power of the Holy Ghost.

President Russell M. Nelson said, “Unfailing faith is fortified through prayer. Your heartfelt pleadings are important to Him.”

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin taught us that, “Those who walk in faith will feel their lives encompassed with the light and blessings of heaven. They will understand and know things that others cannot.”

Elder Neil L. Andersen shared with us, “My dear friends, your faith did not begin at birth, and it will not end at death. Faith is a choice. Strengthen your faith, and live to be deserving of the Savior’s approving words: “Great is thy faith.” As you do, I promise you that your faith, through the grace of Jesus Christ, will one day allow you to stand with those you love, clean and pure in the presence of God.”

Doctrine and Covenants 112:10

“Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers”.(Scripture reference ?)

Alma 32:21

And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.

Moroni 7:25-26

25 Wherefore, by the ministering of angels, and by every word which proceeded forth out of the mouth of God, men began to exercise faith in Christ; and thus by faith, they did lay hold upon every good thing; and thus it was until the coming of Christ.

26 And after that he came men also were saved by faith in his name; and by faith, they become the sons of God. And as surely as Christ liveth he spake these words unto our fathers, saying: Whatsoever thing ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, behold, it shall be done unto you.

Ether 12:15

Behold, it was the faith of Ammon and his brethren which wrought so great a miracle among the Lamanites.

Moroni 7:33

And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.

Ponder:

What is one thing you can do to show God you believe in Him?

On a scale of 1-10 how much do you trust God? Why?

Can you think of a time God has done something for you?

Write:

Each day write down a thought. It doesn’t have to be long and can be kept in a private journal, kept on notes in a phone, emailed to you or a friend, written as a private message to someone or posted publicly on any social media channel. It could be a doodle on paper, an Instagram story, Facebook post or TicTok video, however you like. You will be blessed for remembering.

Elder Richard G. Scott taught us to “Write down in a secure place the important things you learn from the Spirit. You will find that as you write down precious impressions, often more will come. Also, the knowledge you gain will be available throughout your life.”
