Reporting Abuse to ACT Authorities

Any person who believes or suspects that a child is experiencing abuse or neglect may call the General Public Line, or file a Child Concern Report, completed online at https://form.act.gov.au/smartforms/landing.htm?formCode=1136 or, in an emergency, call the ACT police. A person who gives information honestly and without recklessness is protected from civil liability.

Reportable Conduct Scheme

  • The Church must report any allegation of child abuse committed by a Church member with a calling or a ministering assignment, whether the abuse is in connection with the calling or assignment or not. Report allegations to your bishop or to the Church Child Protection Help Line ((02) 9841 5454) immediately. (Ombudsman Act 1989, s17E, s17G – https://www.legislation.act.gov.au)
