During August 18-24, 2025, youth and young adults from every stake across the Pacific are invited to participate in a special week focused on inviting friends—those not currently attending and those not of our faith—to join with them in their sacrament meetings and in seminary and institute classes.
The blessings of seminary and institute are profound. Youth and young adults who attend seminary and institute gain greater personal devotion, stronger testimonies, and more meaningful spiritual experiences. Not only that, research shows that one in three friends who enrol in seminary or institute are baptised.
“They are a mighty and righteous battalion. Gaining strength from each other as they learn of Jesus Christ, follow and testify of Him.” Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Here are some ways that you can get involved with the Invite a Friend week:
- Personal Invitation: Ward council members, S&I teachers/supervisors, YSA and youth leaders, and quorum/class presidencies could personally invite all youth and YSAs to attend sacrament meeting and seminary or institute—and to extend the same invitation to their friends who are not members of the church.
- Youth and YSA Involvement: Current seminary and institute students could invite their friends and share their positive experiences in these programmes.
- Seminary & Institute Activities: Consider holding special seminary and institute activities during the week of August 18-24, 2025, providing an opportunity for youth and YSAs to bring friends to experience the programme.
- Share Testimonies Widely: Encourage youth and YSAs to share their testimonies of the blessings they have received through participating in sacrament meetings, seminary and institute (e.g., in sacrament meetings, youth devotionals, family home evenings, or via social media).
- Work with S&I Coordinators & Full Time Missionaries: Work closely with your local seminary and institute coordinators and full time missionaries to support you in this important initiative.
- Use Ward Councils: Discuss this initiative in ward councils to ensure a unified effort in reaching out to all young people and their friends. Ensure sacrament meetings and classes focus on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and His role as the Saviour and Redeemer of the World.
As you consider this special week of invitation, we invite you to ponder on the following questions: What would it look and feel like if every young person in your stake were united in sacrament meetings, seminary, and institute classes? What would it look like if their friends joined them?
