LDS Family Services - Services Provided

LDS Family Services provides a number of services including Consultation Services, Clinical and Counselling Services, Addiction Recovery Programs, Marriage Courses, Adoption Services and more. Please see below for more details.


Children Services

LDS Family Services provides professional adoption services to qualified Latter-day Saint families. These services are offered in compliance with NZ Adoption Act (1955). Families interested in adoption will be made aware of all resources available to them. The goal of LDS Family Services is to ensure a successful adoption with full protection of all parties involved and then sealed in the temple for time and all eternity.


Expectant Parent Services

Individuals who are single, unmarried and pregnant can be assisted through this service. Available help includes counselling, education, advice, placement of the child (if desired), and above all, friendship and understanding from professional and volunteer staff. These services are offered with strict confidentiality and referrals are accepted from any source.


Clinical Services

At the request of local leaders, LDS Family Services provides professional therapy to individuals and families or refers them to a Community Resource. These services are in keeping with LDS Church Welfare Services principles of emotional and spiritual self reliance.


Consultation Services

In co-operation with ecclesiastical leaders, the LDS Family Services staff will help explore the cause and possible solutions of social or emotional problems of individuals and families, providing treatment alternatives or referrals where appropriate.


Emergency

If a person is deemed 'High Risk' in that they are an immediate danger to themselves or others please seek help through emergency services, the Mental Health Crisis Service whose number will be found in the Emergency section of your phone book or dial 111.
